Drinkwater Travel: A Branding Story

the branding process
The logo for Drinkwater Travel embodies adventure and romance while still being very professional. The script font used on “Drinkwater” presents a romantic feel as well as giving you ocean vibes. The font used on the word “Travel” is very bold and seems to encourage adventure. The first design direction we created for Janet Drinkwater was aqua, red, and beige and included an abstract flower-type design with the brand name below. We ended up eliminating this option because our client felt it did not embody a travel company in the way she envisioned it. The second design direction emphasized the name “Drinkwater” and described it as a romantic travel agency below in a curved shape. We decided in agreement with our client that because “Drinkwater” was so prominent, people might think it was promoting drinking more water rather than being a travel company.
The third time was the charm. The logo she ended up using features 3 different shades of blue and gives a very tropical feel. Also, this logo emphasizes the word “travel” which we felt would make it clearer to potential customers that it is a travel company. Plus, we had a hunch this logo might be a perfect fit because Janet showed up to our meeting wearing the colors of the logo!
about the client
People who know what they want and want it done right will benefit from booking with Drinkwater Travel. Janet Drinkwater offers a higher end service that can be helpful who have been to resorts before and have a good idea of the kind of experience they want to have but just need help putting the trip together. Some of the slogans this client likes to feature are:
“Where you book matters.”
“Take her on a trip, she deserves it.”
These slogans do a good job of emphasizing the fact that the destination can have a big impact on the type of trip you will have, and that she specializes in romantic trips.
