Plus One Physical Therapy: A Branding Story

When designing the Plus One Physical Therapy branding suite, we were looking to create something that gives a feeling of comfort to its visitors. Dr. Laura Gordey says “there’s no such thing as TMI when it comes to women’s problems,” which is why making Plus One Physical Therapy’s brand welcoming was so important. We decided the best way to convey comfort was by the color scheme. With this, we conducted a survey that asked groups of men and women which colors they found most comforting. Once the results were in, we chose the colors and designed the branding and website to have a clean, fun look. Our team member, Nakia Thomas, wrote the website text after learning more about the powerful work of Plus One Physical Therapy.
We wanted to emphasize community and working together in Plus One Physical Therapy’s logo, which inspired the underlining of “us”. The emphasis on “us” in the logo was designed to complement the welcoming nature of the website, and Dr. Laura Gordey’s mission to guide her patients through their rehab experience so they are never alone. She is a partner to her patients during their journey to wellness.
Dr. Laura Gordey started Plus One Physical Therapy to help young females achieve optimal pelvic function, so they can dominate womanhood without compromising their health. She has a burning desire to help women reach their best selves, especially when illness or injury has limited their abilities. She recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she continues to pursue her passion in pelvic floor rehabilitation.
